About Kenwyn

Kenwyn is situated in Crediton, an historic Devon market town convenient for both Dartmoor and Exmoor and only seven miles from Exeter. It boasts a thriving community and a unique setting in the heart of the Devonshire countryside. It has a long history and was probably started in the 8th Century. For some 800 years the Church dominated local life and Winfrith (later Boniface) was born here. In 1547 the citizens of Crediton bought the Church from the King for £200. Since then, the Church building has been administered by twelve governors who represent the inhabitants. Today, Crediton has all of the facilities one would require, ranging from shops, to a library, churches, banks and good medical services. Nearby Exeter has good rail links and adjoins the M5 motorway.

Facilities at Kenwyn

Kenwyn provides a variety of care services in an environment with a purpose built ‘feel’. It is registered for both elderly and dementia care. Most rooms are en suite and have central heating, a nurse call alarm, television point and are fully furnished. Wifi access can be provided on request. We will be happy to adapt if you wish to bring your own furniture or change the decoration of the room – just ask. The home has a lift to the first floor and the communal rooms include a lounge, several informal seating areas, a dining room and a large conservatory. Kenwyn provides accommodation to the highest standard for the more discerning person, but the most important feature is its happy, relaxed atmosphere!
