About The Firs

The Firs is situated in Witheridge, nestling amidst unspoilt undulating countryside linked by two rivers, the Little Dart and the Adworthy Brook. Set on rolling hills in the beautiful countryside of North Devon, it has Exmoor National Park to the north, and Dartmoor National Park a short distance away to the south. It is an enchanting region of the county with many wooded valleys associated with the path of the Little Dart River. There are a variety of beautiful countryside scenes, rolling hills, hidden woodlands and spectacular scenery, all of which give it a tranquil feeling difficult to find elsewhere these days. Witheridge has good medical services, with the local surgey close to The Firs, and is only a short distance from the bustling market town of Tiverton, which has all of the facilities one would expect. From there, the M5 motorway is easily accessible.

Facilities at The Firs

The Firs is a large, detached country house in its own garden and grounds. It provides a variety of care services and is registered for elderly and dementia care. Most rooms are en suite and have central heating, a nurse call alarm, television point and are fully furnished. Wifi access can be provided on request. We will be happy to adapt if you wish to bring your own furniture or change the decoration of the room – just ask. The communal rooms include two lounges, a dining room and two conservatories. The Firs provides accommodation to the highest standard for the more discerning person, but the most important feature is its happy, relaxed atmosphere!
