Specialist Care Services

We provide several types of specialist care.

Elderly learning disabilities

Elderly people with a learning disability are often not well served by the social care system in the UK. Often they are placed in a care home for the elderly with no specialist registration or staff training. At South West Care Homes we have specialist beds  registered specifically for elderly people with learning disabilities, and our staff are trained accordingly.

Living with a dementia can be a frightening experience for both the person and their families. At South West Care Homes we provide care and support for people living with in a safe environment empowering our residents to have choice. Our environments are designed specifically with the person in mind free from regiment and routine. Great emphasis is put on visual stimulation across all our settings and staff are all trained in dementia care.

Older Persons

Making the decision to move into a care home can be very daunting. At South West Care Homes we provide a support service for all our residents and their families. Our homes all provide care and support to the older person in a small, family orientated environment. Each resident and family meet their key worker on admission who will support you through your stay. A wide and varied activities plan is available in all our homes, our chefs provide wholesome, home cooked meals.

Physical Disability

Within some of our homes we provide specialist care for elderly people who have a physical disability. Our homes provide staff specially trained and equipment and adaptations to meet individual needs.
